Legos anybody?

Hey everyone ! Today i’m sharing with you my last project.

I made it last week, and it’s part of my 52 weeks challenge (week 48).

I’ve seen a lot of lego related stuff but almost never photorealistic renders of them. It’s almost always legos “in a lego world”. I thought it might be interesting to try this out ! I took references from the original lego minifig for the color scheme, and I think the model I did is very close to the 90’s version, I’m no lego expert, so sorry if I got all this wrong.

Here are some of the final renders :

Here you can have a quick view at the wireframes and the GIGANTIC amount of effort I put into keeping the cleanest topology possible (this was hard, especially for the bricks) !

As a bonus to the minifig, I decided I would do some bricks as well !

If you’re into legos, I hope you like this. Please let me know your thoughts and give me some feedback, it’s highly appreciated !

Thanks a lot !

Great job, I love the clean mesh and the materials especially. I just miss the lego logo on the studs of the low-angle shots, like picture 3 from the top and the 3rd from the bottom

Thanks a lot ! I’m actually only realizing right now they’re not that visible… but they’re there I can promise you hahaha maybe this has to do with the angle and the amount of height I put in the texture… thanks for your feedbacks :kissing_heart:

Don’t you want to sell it? I think many people need a minifigure with a normal mesh and good materials

Thanks for the good advice, I’ll look into it and post an update here if I do !

This render is insane, I could never tell it’s 3D! very amazing job!

Thanks a lot :ok_hand:t2::pray:t2::sunglasses:

Hey, thank you :blush:

You are using Subdivision Surfaces?

Yes I am, plus a shrinkwrap modifier for the legs, I left it unapplied to keep a low poly mesh :wink:

Nice topology!

I wish you can post your material node setup here to see how can you achieve this realistic render
