I am currently in the process of developing a basic template that has the alphabet, including numbers, modeled in 3D. I though 'Why should anyone have to go through the process of making words over and over again every time they want to make a statement or a logo in 3D? Why not just make one basic template so that no one has to!? So, here I am, modeling each letter, one…by…one. It certainly will have to be modifiable, unless I want to create whole different fonts. Well, here’s where I am so far…
Edit: Sorry, I haven’t gotten too far yet, but you should get the idea.
I’m not sure I understand why you are doing this. I can already add 3D text using any font on my system. What more does your system offer that Blender doesn’t already have?
One thing you have to realize about logos is that they are typically already defined when you begin to work with them. So any kind of generalized font work is a waste of time. You will have to use the logo’s font anyway.
