Lighting problem.

I want to create an interior that looks like the one on that image: http://postimage.org/image/xoqapia2x/
The problem is that I can’t make it :frowning: I’ve tried spotlights and hemis, suns areas and points but couldnt find a solution.
Last try this was the closest I got but its still a half win. The wall at the sphere is lit too much but the floor is okay. The complete opposite of the other side. On the side of the lights without the sphere the wall is just perfect but the floor is lit too much, also it lights up the environment too.

Hi, it looks like you using blender internal render engine, it is much easier to get realistic results with the cycles engine.
There is a tutorial foe a hallway at blenderguru with BI, may it helps.
Lightning is at part 2:

You could also download the finished file to look how he make it.

Cheers, mib.

Isn’t cycles a bit hardcore for a beginner?

Hi, this tutorial is for blender internal render.

Isn’t cycles a bit hardcore for a beginner?

No, you have an addon “Material Online Library” with some cycles materials for start and lights react like lights in real world.
So much easier in most cases, set your lights as low poly mesh, switch material to emiter, scale brightness.
A photorealistic render is alway hard to set and need much experience with every render engine.
