Lighting through transparent textures

I have an insect wing with like three layers of textures which govern its transparency and glossyness, etc.
The problem I’m having its its casting a solid shadow, even though the veins and perhaps some color bleeding should be showing in the shadow. I’m guessing I’ve come to a roadblock or dead end with blender’s internal renderer. But maybe not? :rolleyes:

In Materials pannels, you have a “TraShadow” button. Enable it for the mesh that’s recieving shadows.
