I made some sort of bi-directional pendulum to draw Lissajous curves. Animating the different parameters via the custom properties of the Lissajous empty gives at times pleasing results.
Source file without HDR included for whoever wants to experiment with it. Animation Nodes and B-tracer addons required.
I managed to make a geonodes version of this contraption, B-tracer add-on no longer required. In fact movement of the pendulum and drawing of the curve are independent, keeping them synchronous was a challenge in it’s own right. Blend file included for whoever is interested.
