LiveLinkFace ARKit Receiver for Blender – Real-time facial capture from iPhone

Blender Facial Animation → Unreal Engine 5 via LiveLink
YouTube

I’ve released an open-source Blender add-on that connects iPhone ARKit facial tracking (via Live Link Face) directly to Blender — in real time!

It’s a bit late to share, but if you’re interested, feel free to give it a try!

This add-on receives tracking data from the Live Link Face app over the network and applies it to shape keys inside Blender.

It allows you to preview and record expressive facial animation directly on your Blender models without needing Unreal Engine.

Features

  • Real-time communication with iPhone Live Link Face
  • Automatic mapping to ARKit’s 52 standard blendshape parameters
  • Works with any Blender model that has matching shape key names
  • Simple setup — just run the add-on, and press “Start LiveLinkFace”

Notes

I made this tool while developing a semi-realistic character for Unreal Engine. It turned out to be extremely useful for quickly testing facial expressions directly inside Blender — and I hope it helps other artists and VTuber creators as well.

Feedback and pull requests are very welcome!
