the school of mecka-fish in the background look so much better than the centerpiece model. in fact, that funny jet fish thing in the foreground really detracts from the quality of the image, and seriously harms the composition at the same time. it messes up the lines of action, creating conflicting dynamics in the image. try drawing a blocked out version of that image using arrows, and see how messy it looks (i’m not sure how clear this is, might post an example).
i would simply have one of those mecka-fish in the foreground, arching towards its family.
at the very least bevel that mesh a little. it looks like it’s made of tin foil at the moment.
