Living Mechanics (upd: 10/07/2004 - animation)

Wow that is awesome looking, I love stuff like this, great quality of modling as well!!!

SIMPLY AWESOME DESIGN.
Reminds me alot about Blame manga.
Superb work.

Sheesh, who went and dug this old thread up? :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually I’ve been working on it a bit more recently, I’ll post an update when I’ve made a substantial difference. And garbager yes, as I mentioned on the previous page it’s very influenced by Blame!.

Woops sorry, I didn’t see it

Wheee… time for an update

I’ve also changed my concept midway too. Here’s a newer sketch:

:o WOW :o

Very Nice Keep up the good work

I’m always impressed by this thing, keep up blending!

Softly disturbing. I like it. By the way… I think that it was external render discussion that I found the head mesh on… Is the blend so high-poly ? Or was that for smoothing purposes on another renderer ? Cannot wait to see “ït” animated.

Ah yes, I wanted to test yafray on a high poly mesh so I converted the head from a subsurf to a straight mesh and rendered that.

In any case though, yes this model’s got a huge amound of polygons… Since it’s a personal art project I’m not worried about trying to keep it efficient - I’m just making it really detailed for fun  To see what I mean, here’s a pic of the OOPs window showing all the objects in the scene, and I’m not even halfway finished yet. It’s going to be a nightmare to animate though… Thanks for the comments

Oooooooh Really awesome,

and I love your sketch too!

Beautiful piece of work. Great concept sketch as well.

Keep going, I want to see this done now more than ever!

BgDM

Thanks a lot BgDM! Over the last week or so, I’ve had holidays from work, and I’ve found lots of motivation to keep going. Hopefully I can continue making progress

that’s really wicked!

it’s sad that you couldn’t finish it for the deadline :expressionless:

I hope you animate her (looks like a her to me)

Martin

wow! kinda scary, reminds me of something… cant put my finger on it. i really hope you animate it, but like you said it looks like itll be a nightmare trying to!. hope to see the finished product!

Finished the details in the back area, and begun work on the legs

Many months (and a nickname change) later, I’ve decided to pull this model out again and try try try to finish it once and for all. This is becoming quite a marathon!

I think the proportions on the legs are currently a bit weird, but anyway, here’s an update:
