The setting is based loosely on the North York Moors Railway, the loco is the Flying Scotsman.

Ah, ok. That makes much more sense.
I looked at various pics of the train online, and they were in different positions (like clock hands). 
An update - adjusting the sun position and pushing the compositing further to help the loco have a bit more pop.

This deserves more attention. Well modelled and textured, looks really realistic (to me anyway), is well composed and thought out. Very good.
