Logitech Mx Vertical

In this project, I created a photorealistic rendering of the Logitech MX Vertical model. My goal was to model the product in detail in terms of design and to achieve the closest result to a real-life photo.

Modeling Process

Blender The basis of the work was the 3D model I created in Blender. I used subdivision modeling and hard surface techniques to accurately capture the ergonomic and organic forms of the MX Vertical. I examined reference images for detailed shaping and worked carefully to reflect the curves in the grip area of the model in the most accurate way.

Texture and Texture Process

Substance Painter & Blender After completing the model, I focused on the realism of the textures:
:white_check_mark: I created the basic PBR textures in Substance Painter. I processed the soft-touch plastic effect on the surface of the mouse, lightly brushed metal buttons and matte plastic details.

:white_check_mark: I added some special effects using procedural shading in Blender. I worked with noise & roughness maps, especially for the slight reflections and surface irregularities on the table surface.

Lighting & Render

Blender Cycles I created a low-key and natural light scenario to provide photorealism.
:bulb: I provided the ambient light with HDRI lighting.
:bulb: I emphasized the shape lines and texture of the mouse with extra spot lights.
:bulb: I used Depth of Field (DOF) in the camera settings for depth effect and realistic blur.

I’ve always been curious. Do you think these vertical mice might be more comfortable than the classic ones?

Yes, absolutely. Getting a vertical mouse is the best decision I’ve ever made

Good job, very nice renders. I have this mouse and your model is close to the real one, just some details here and there that differ (might also be due to the references you used).

After using one for a few years, I can totally agree.

Yes, you are right. There is a slight difference due to the reference I looked at in several places. Also, thank you very much for your appreciation and comment.

My mouse! So realistic, nice work! Not easy to do!

Great work. I love that Lamy pen and the mouse. I’m now using an HP vertical mouse because those Logitech ones break yearly for me.

Thank you, I’m glad you liked it.
