Looking for someone to test an add on for me

Hi all!

I’m looking for someone to test an add on for me. I’m posting this in the Python Support section because I want whoever tests this to have some python/add on knowledge to help me troubleshoot this.

I’ve updated an older add on and it’s working for me. I gave the py script to someone else, they installed it and enabled it, but it isn’t showing up on an F3 search for them.

This add on will be released for free once I make a few changes and can get others to test it. But until then, I’d rather not post the code anywhere.

Please DM me and I’ll send you the .py file and instructions. Nothing compilcated and should only take 5 minutes to test.

Thanks,
Randy

Hello. You have to know that if an operator is not added to the layout of a UI element (panel, menu, etc.) it will not appear in the search menu by default. You may tell the user to turn on “Developer Extras” in the user preferences. This will populate the search menu with operators that are not put there by default.

Cheers

In my case, it’s added to the Pose Specials menu, W-key while in pose mode brings up this menu.

But you are right. If I disable ‘Developer Extras’ the operator won’t appear in the search menu.

Thanks!
Randy
