Its clearly a hemisphere/dome cut with in stars.
My problem is HOW to make those stars.
Any guidance will be helpful

Stars are practically cylinders with 10 verteces and you scale every other one down. Then use bend or shrinkwrap probably to make it sphere. Its just a thought.
Or I cant think of making it right from the sphere similarly to this tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uD27jbB3JYs
i dont follow…
you make a mesh circle with 10 vertices(you can change the vertex count in the pop up menu that appears at the bottom left after you make the shape). In edit mode you select all the vertices and select checker deselect(in the select menu on your top left). This should select every other vertex. Then scale to your star shape. After you can select all and extrude to the height you want.
Hi @BaidDSB,
firstly, the drawings that you’ve referenced have an inconsistency. The second to last images has 7 stars around the outside, all the others have 5.
Assuming that 5 is therefore the more likely . . .
Geometrically this is not possible with 6 perfectly identical stars with the specific curvature that the dome has. Starting with the profile of the stadium ( last image ) I created a sphere that gave me that exact curve ( it’s not a squashed hemisphere ) you need to scale the sphere and move it down to find the sweet spot.
I then created a single star ( any method you like ) with sufficient subdivisions. This was then shrink wrapped to the top of the sphere dome. I then set the 3d pivot to the center of the dome and using that as the pivot point duplicated the star once to assess the scale of the star for reaching the perimeter and scaled each to allow touching. Then I duplicated the other edge stars.
Here the geometry gets interesting - you will have to scale these edge stars in width to get their tips to meet.
I then collapsed the modifiers, joined all the stars together, welded the touching points and added a solidify.
And because it’s Tuesday ( as good a reason as any ) here’s the Blend
StarDome.blend (1.3 MB)
It’s not to life scale.
Cheers,
Dj.
thanks. ill test this
