Los Angeles Blender Community

Hey, a Ray & Clovis sighting at SIGGRAPH! Checkout the tweet @TheoryAnimation. An ep was played at the Blender BOF meeting on Sunday!
Bring it on Dave!

And we have a selfie tweet from our good friends at TheoryAnimation.com getting ready for their BOF panel Working Remotely in Animation.

We still have some slots left for people to present at the LA.blend Westside Local Blender Users Meeting.
Here’s a survey to let us know what topics you would like to see presented or topics you are interested in presenting.

So attendees please make sure and let us know what topics you would like to see presented by filling out the survey. Even if you can’t make it on the 21st we would still like to hear from you on topics that interest the community.

Prospective presenters can fill out the survey on topics they are interested in speaking on. We will contact you. We can also help you with coaching and setup assistance if you have never presented before. We are a fun group and it’s very rewarding to present among other Blenderheads.

Here’s the link so both attendees and presenters please fill out the survey when you get a chance. Thanks always for everyone’s support.

Yes it’s free as in beer as they say! Yes you will be right by us. The 3rd Street Promenade is very close to the library. All are welcome and we have a friendly group so it’s lots of fun. We usually have free bagels also, lol.

See you there. Please let Stirling or I know that you found us on BA.
Laters, JT

Do you have a link with the recorded session?

We will have to do some cleanup on the video and audio then David from TA will post a link.

The LA.blend Westside Local BUMs had a packed meeting. Thanks to everyone who showed up and contributed. We had some great conversation after the meeting at the cafe.

On a side note, we are getting a lot of VFX peeps at the meetings so I might organize a what I call a Coffee Clutch meeting sometime soon to brainstorm how our user meetings and contributors can help this specific segment. It would help to get specific feedback from small studios. Keep an eye out for that announcement. It will probably be a Saturday morning meeting for 2 hours at a cafe and focused specifically on VFX studio needs.

If you are a studio with employees please feel free to post some ideas here on this thread in the meantime.

Had a great time meeting fellow Blenderheads today! When and where can we expect to see the photos taken at the meeting : )

Stirling sometimes posts the photos here. At least one. On the new website we will have a gallery. Check #b3d also, sometimes he tweets them there. I’ll try to remember to ping him about posting at least one.

Ya, that was a fun meeting. Blenderheads are cool folks. Keep an eye out for working group meetings. A bunch of us get together on a Saturday or Sunday at a cafe and work on our personal projects while helping each other out. It’s a good time.
