Low poly cave

I am really into low poly stuff, and I decided to make a cave. It became a small project I’ve been working on over the weekend, and I would like some critiques.

quite nice and it has a nice feel to it
however mybe add some lava to spice things up?
maybe not even texture it, it might look awesome if you give a shade between yellow and red to each vertex, while stil keeping the lava lowpoly, just like your current floor

(Sorry I couldn’t add the image, it didn’t work) I definitely like the render, but it has a completely different feel to it. The first one seemed dark and mysterious, but this is the complete opposite.

meh… i prefer the first render. keep it dark, but add more stuff to look at. boring but interesting image

Keep in mind people with cheap/uncalibrated monitors might not even see most of the dark ones… i know it sucks but its just something you gotta live with :expressionless:

http://theorysend.com/ Here is a site that lets you upload lossless images (No color changes or horrible JPG chunks)

You need to make sure your links end with an image extension. For example:

Valid’s and preferable are usually JPG, PNG, or GIF.

The above aside, I’m impartial to both images. I agree with Farrage in the sense of adding things to look at, I would probably look at adding old paintings on it or something. You could put some explorers on the bridge as well. Anything that tells a story! You could even use that green crystal thing that’s dark at the moment. Put a ladder going down there or something with a tent at the top, like a mining operation.

Take off the blur in your lava picture though. The focus is forcefully forced to the bridge and makes settling on it difficult. It should flow in naturally. If you want the bridge to be the focus of attention, you’ll need to have the camera angle elsewhere.

Uncheck this box. It should be checked by default.

This also helps take the load off of BA servers

lava is nice, but i also agree that it shouldnt be blurry, its kindof distracting.
maybe make the lava slightly dimmer, and maybe something at the other end of the bridge? something cute like the little lamp, i love that lamp

Ok, not much of an improvement, I just added a small pickaxe and a waterfall, but I think if I add too much it would take away from the mysterious feel.

The last image is really nice. The composition is good, with a perfect amount of detail, would make for a good desktop background. I don’t even usually like low poly things… Good job man!

cute pickaxe
although, the waterfall looks kinda… bad to me i would actually model it, even if it is low-poly, to make it less well flat
and i would add the lava back even if it is dim, just for light
