Low Poly Room Tutorial with Blender 2.79 - 8-part series

Hi all,
I thought I’d give an attempt to creating some tutorials on YouTube.

I would like to give something back to the community after learning quite a lot from all of you.

This is what is going be to be created:

The video is real-time (and cut where necessary), so no time-lapse found here. I’t’s an almost 2-hour training - I also created a Playlist

Tutorial: Creating a Low Poly Room with Blender 2.79 - Part 1/8

Note I am not commenting per audio, so all you’ll hear is some background music - sorry about that. I still hope you can follow along.

Video parts 2 to 8 are already finished - I only need to apply the background music when time allows it.

Hope you like it and have a good weekend!

Regards,

Dan

Besides modelling a paper bin and a desk (latter via a mirror modifier), the interesting part here is modelling not only a book for the bookshelf, but instead, create variations of this book in size.
The books are then aligned accordingly.

When it gets to the materials (in part 7), I will dynamically assign to all the books different colors. So there will be no need for coloring each book individually.

Dan

Part 4 is online

The tut includes a variety of different objects like the PC monitor, a piece of paper, placing a book from the shelf on the desk, a coffee cup and a study chair.

Probably the most interesting may be the study chair for some, since I am working with an array modifier (usng an empty) for the five “legs” of the chair.

Have a good day

Dan

Hi all

in part 5, the modelling is concentrated on the PC keyboard and the power cable via Bezier curve.

Have fun modellng!

Today, part 6 is online

We’ll be modelling a small radio and a “crumpled” piece of paper on the floor.

After this, we’re done modelling!

In parts 7 and 8, all meshes will get their materials, lighting will be set, camera settings to isometric and some UV mapping for the monitor and both wall pictures will also be done.

Welcome to part 7 - Materials

Enjoy the video.

Final chapter

  • Adjust the lighting
  • Set the background world color
  • Apply the images onto the pictures
  • Final tweaks

Thank you for accompanying me on this journey!
