Just something that I felt like making after watching a few of those Japan Night Walk videos on Youtube and some touches of lowfi/rain music gave me the inspiration to make this scene.
I couldn’t really decide if I wanted it futuristic or just in the present time so I had a bit of the screens in bricks and the neon look.
This was made entirely with bezier curves.
I usually have a hard time with booleans but they turned out surprisingly well for the windows and doors.
This can was fun to make, just a cylinder with some extrusions shaped to match the texture… It’s really just textures doing the heavy lifting.
And here’s some snippets from the work in progress:
This was just to get the initial phase, to get the lighting and mood down.
I really liked the reflectivity and colours in the road, it was the look and feel I was going for
This was the very first animation to just test out the train’s movement
This was the second pass getting a better feel for what would be
And this was the first time I rendered the papers flying to time it with the train’s approach. It had to begin the flying simulation at a frame that felt natural to respond to the train’s movement.
