Well the (non low poly ) ref seems to have some diffferent geometry for the pupil and the euwlid … and yours not ?? (difficult to say because no wireframe…)…
Could you please direct me to what I should study to get something similar?
Your modeled pupil and eyelid seems to be one geometry… look into the mirror… that’s the best and also cheapest ref you already have…
… how would you draw this (with paper and pencil; doesn;t have to be pretty … just do study this art direction)… try to image the simplest forms (here deformed sphere) and how tomerge them…
That’s not diretly low poly… it’s non-realistic, comic like… i don’t know this specific art style just as little as you do… but that doesn’t matter at all…
