Hi, I downloaded and installed luxrender, but it does not show it as an available option when I go to my scripts. I am using Blender 2.49b on a mac running snow leopard.
Did you install the exporter? Was it installed in your correct scripts folder?

As well as the scripts window the exporter will be accessable from the Render menu at the top of the blender window.
