Mac: animated glow plugin?

Hello. I’m interested in using blender as a video editing tool. I’m looking for a way to animate a glow effect on a strip in my sequence, but so far i haven’t been able to locate an animate-able glow plugin that works on my mac.

I’m using:

intel core 2 duo (os x 10.5.7)
blender 2.49

Does anyone know of such a plugin that would work? thanks in advance.

You could duplicate the strip and add a glow effect to that, then perform a transition between the two strips, or something of the sort. Just so long as there’s no frame offset.

Thanks for the suggestion, that could be useful. Primarily though, I’m looking for a way to animate the distance of the blur effect.
