Making 3D text

Sorry if there’s already a thread about this, but the search function didn’t give me anything useful.

I was wondering if there is an easy way to create 3D block text rather than the basic 2D stuff that comes out of the text tool? I’m a video editor so don’t really know blender in-depth, but would really like to create some 3D titles with both wireframe and textured text.

Cheers for the help.

After you create the text, TAB to object mode, press ALT-C to convert it to mesh, then TAB back to edit mode and extrude / rotate … whatever you like

Mike

You can extrude (and bevel) text directly, i.e. it will not loose it’s text object magic.
Just go to object mode and look in the tab “Curve and Surface”.

Awesome, cheers.
