Making a Camera Follow a Path, why so difficult?

I discovered the overlays when looking up how to determine the direction of the curve. Very often, when I constrain a camera to the curve, it ends up pointing in the wrong direction and going backwards when I play the animation. Being able to see the curve direction (normals) helps to predict if you’re camera is going to point the right way or not.

I still run into weird situations where the first straight part of the curve has a 60° tilt, then straightens out on the first turn. Weird, because this is before I’ve changed mean tilt on any points yet.
