Hello!
So about 1 week ago I started thinking about how i could make a curved “road like” shape (road like as if the sides of the road are always the same distance apart)
but not road like as it would look like a road
But it would be builded usign only one vertex like so
The demonstration was made using the skin modofier wich is really close… BUT it creates some pretty wierd joints like here:
Now theese kind of joints are ok if you’re creating characters but in Hard surface modeling theese “more natural looking joints” dont make much sense
So my goal would be to turn the white selection to the orange selection in the picture:
ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED!!! THX GUYS

Hi.
Is “Offset Edges” addon useful for you?. This is included by default in new versions of Blender, you only need to enable it.
Two methods:
bevel curve with a belev object (other curve)
create a road section, array modifier, curve modifier
Examples:
road_methods.blend (737.4 KB)

Very cool looking!
Couldnt find it in the deafult addons but I managed to grab it from GitHub looking into it now
Thanks!
You can change the curve type to poly to have absolute control.

HMmmmm
Looked very promising! but sadly it has those ugly joints too
But either way, thank you for your answer!
Add extra vertices in the corners.

Oh, sorry, I had forgotten. Many tools for Edit mode have been included in a single addon in 2.79:
https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Ref/Release_Notes/2.79/Add-ons
You must enable “Mesh: Edit Tools 2” addon. You can find it in Toolshelf (T) panel, Mesh Edit Tools and “Edge” item. Or directly searching from Space Bar search key with “offset edges”. When you execute it, you will see more options at the bottom of T panel.
