i hope this is the right forum…but anyway im just learning how to make game and im wondering how to make a mouse to navigate through menus such as options and starting things…cause if u dont make a navigator you have to search for like an hour to finally get to a button…thx for the help
connect a always sensor with true level triggering off to this script:
import Rasterizer as r
r.showMouse(1)
it would’t hurt you to use the search button, you are not the first one who asks this
sorry and thanks…but were do i put the code?
All you have to do is select your camera, add an ALWAYS sensor (sensors are the little tabs on the left) and a PYTHON controller (those are the ones in the middle). Connect them by dragging a line from the sensor to the controller. Then, copy and paste the script into the text editor, name it something like “mouse,” and type the name into the python controller’s little text box. It should work. If it doesn’t, tell me and I’ll upload a screenshot of the setup.
If you would like to make your own custom cursor (instead of just using the system cursor) you can follow this tutorial: http://www.blendenzo.com/tutCustomCursors.html
sory if im anoying u but for me it isnt working…im not the best at blender either
just a random question…is there a way to tell if someone is online?
if the little person is green beside their name
thank you
do i have to save the text thing?
Here: http://www.blendenzo.com/Files/Demos/Rasterizer-ShowMouse.blend
This demo .blend will show you how to enable the system mouse cursor.
it’d be nice if that demo thing worked…
That’s very strange…blendenzo’s demo isn’t working for you!!!
The demo works fine. If it is not working for you, then it is probably because of your computer’s OpenGL support (or something like that). If that demo won’t work for you and you still want a mouse cursor that you can see, then use my custom cursors tutorial (which I linked you to earlier in the thread).
hmmm…its seems tht you misunderstude my question…? what i want is to take a random object such as a cube… then when u play the game, as you move the mouse the cube will follow it…like if u use ure mouse in real life the little cursor will move corresponding the the movement of the mouse…i hope that that cleared things up…
Here is your original request:
You didn’t say anything about using a 3D object as the cursor, you simply said you wanted a mouse cursor. If you would like people to give helpful answers to your questions, you need to be much more clear about what it is that you want. Next time try something like “how can I make a random object (like a cube for example) act as a mouse cursor to navigate through menus?” Then someone will kindly link you to this tutorial which shows you exactly how to do that. If you will carefully read the tutorial and follow the instructions, you will be able to make a custom cursor in the Blender Game Engine. You can use any object you want to act as the cursor.
Blendenzos tutorials rock…dont dis the Blendenzo… Ive learnt more for his tuts then anyone else.
Nubiees are fine but you cant sit on the forum and say ‘what do I press now’…‘now what do I press’. Do some basic game tutorials and work at it till you get them to work…very little in computers works first time
i didnt dis “the blendenzo” i just thot that he misunderstude my question and he did…so next time just think about it before u say something…and thank you fo the tutorial blendenzo
Download python 2.5 That’ll solve it.
A misunderstanding is usually the result of a poorly explained problem. But as observed by others in this thread, you did change what you were asking…
Just calm down…
