Making Texture Look More Natural

Here is a picture of a ‘cave’ I have created and rendered. The texture is nothing more than a couple of layers of colored stucci and clouds. The problem I’m having with this is the fact that you can see that the texture is being mapped to every face and then starts over …making it look very unnatural in my opinion. I want the texture to look more smooth and give the appearance of not repeating like it is here. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it?

This looks like what happens when you set your Map input to UV but you haven’t done an unwrap on the mesh. Try setting the Map input for your textures to Orco. For more info see the wiki: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Manual/Map_Input
