I decided to try the animation challenge, mainly for practice and fun, so this is my WIP thread.
Here’s my first go at blocking:
Hope to have enough time to finish this, I see quite a bit of work still to do on it

Good work. My only critique is that some of your poses are not readable in silhouette. You may want to rethink some of your acting choices. Other than that, you are on the road to success.
Good goal driven acting. Good body mechanics, you should work on your ease in and ease out a little. Introduce a few more asymmetric poses.

many thanks for the nice and helpful feedback, I’ve been working a bit more on the poses, making them less symmetric. The timing should be a bit better too, but I think I’m not there yet.
Ease in/out will be improved still, I’m not yet at that detail level.

looks like a great start! I would recommend a couple things: slow it down a little bit - like he’s trying to figure out how to lift the thing and needs to think about it. But the opposite should apply for the part where he drops the ball on his toe - that should be all reflex - and thus very very fast. Maybe its just me, but I’d probably move my foot before the ball hit it in that situation - so you should make it look like he tried to move, but didn’t quite make it… Just ideas anyways. Overall, I think it’s pretty good.

I’ve slowed the animation down, it definitely was too fast in most places. I’ve also edited most poses and redid them piece by piece - I think the result is quite a bit better even though it’s still a bit rough.
It’s been quite a good practice so far for me, never did such a long and complex animation before.
Since I don’t know how much time I still have to tweak, I call this almost finished now.
