Man's Head

Hi all,
I have recently been working on a man’s head, using references from got3d.com. I think it’s turning out fairly well, but I would like a few tips on how I could do things better.

The main thing I am worried about is the closely-spaced edges coming up from the nose to the top of the head. I think they are required in the nose region, but I would like to know how I can get rid of them cleanly up above, as they are creating strange bumps in the final image.

Any ideas?

Your mesh looks way to dense. If you use subdivision (subsurf) modelling you need to reduce the number of edgeloops you are using. You also need to take a look at your topology. It seems you are not using your edgeloops to simulate the flow of the muscles of the face resulting in the high number of needed edgeflows.

Take a look at these to see what I mean:

This is the corresponding thread on subdivisionmodeling and it is the non plus ultra about poles and loop topology. Carefull this is a very heavy read
