Map Input problems

I’m using Blender 2.49. Just recently upgraded from 2.46. I can’t seem to get the ‘Flat’, ‘Cube’, ‘Tube’, and ‘Sphere’ input modes to work. I click the buttons and nothing changes. Is this a bug or is there some new method to getting this to work that I’m not seeing.

In case you’re going to ask what I’m trying to do, I’m procedurally generating a brick texture using nodes, and it won’t wrap around corners, it just stretches on into infinity.

Hi, Brick texture doesn’t work with cube mapping etc. Don’t ask me why.
If you want to map brick, your best bet is to use UVmapping - with an actual brick map.
