Mapping a texture on a screw modifier

Hello everyone,

the following image is a detail of my week end project entry.


To make the brush metal texture, I used a noise texture with scale along x and z equal to 1 and along y equal to 75.
But to get this right, I didn’t find any other solution than to apply the screw modifier and to unwrap the mesh. Is there a way to map a texture on cylindrical coordinates corresponding to a screw modifier ?

well you could make a screw with array modifier!
then UV map the first elements but then it would be repeating along each element in the array!

don’t remember it can be done otherwise mapping is only for flat cube and spherical shape!

otherwise use UV unwrap with seams and then you contrl what goes where!

Yep, that is a solution that let me choose the number of iteration, but I can’t modify the shape of my screw by modifying the two-only vertices mesh.
