Mar (10-10 body complete)

:o Cool work !!! congratulation !!!

The eyes and the hands are fantastic on this model, very nice work. Its gota great sense of character and it feels particularly unique to any of the others I have seen on this forum. If your armature works out well, then this should be fantastic.

wooo

Thanks
Weekend again so a little bit more work done on this 8)

this one rule’s man, but you need these kind of vertical eylids like birds have, underneed he real horizontal one’s

WoW incredible work man, keep the good work on 8)

Thanks ^^
That would look rather freaky, wouldn’t it Hix? Thank you for the idea.
Anyway, body modelling finished except for some tweaking (still not happy with the crotch).

I’m thinking of sticking some feathers between his skull and neck instead of the metal hooks I was originally planning. We’ll have to see if I can make a convincing feather though.
Now, time for my least favorite part. Texturing.

Oh, and I’ll remove the last picture. It was on my school account and just a bit slow to load.

amazing…amazing… But to the point. i think it might be interesting if you added a reptilian tail to the model. not really sure how this would look though.

i think the collar bone goes too far forward out the sides, it should curve over the shoulder a bit more, rather than heading down the arm.

excellent stuff though, i’d love to texture it! i’d leave the unwrapping to you tho (i hate that part)

Thats looking really impressive! Have you played with displacement mapping? Looking forward to seeing this one animated- maybe you could give him a softbody cloak - once he’s posed he’ll look so so so scary.

Excellent!

No wings?

Stefano

Just sweet! I agree ab out the collar bone issues. But that may be intentional.

Great work, as always.

BgDM

No, no wings and no tail. But I will try to fix the collar bones.
But for now, here’s a try at a feather. Not perfect, but not nearly as difficult to make as I thought either. I’ll fiddle with softbodies and see if I can make it move like a feather too.

you made that feather in blender!? 0_0

of course
I had an idea for one that would be easier to animate, but after modelling it turned out it wasn’t. But anyway, here’s another feather.

And here’s a little animation of the first feather: writing (150 kB, XviD). Should obviously adjust some speed curves and see if I can put some thickness variation into the line. But this was mostly just a test… it also has very little to do with the character but I didn’t feel like starting a new thread for it ^^

That’s very nice. Would you care to elaborate on the techniques you used? I assume the feather consists of either particles or alpha mapped planes, am I right?

Yes, alpha mapped planes. But the feathery texture comes only half from the map, the rest is made by how you let the planes overlap.
