I don’t think he needs any introduction…
Galaxy style:
Someday I’ll add seams to his overalls.
the model is very good, I just change the material a bit by adding some falloff effects same style of Mario Galaxy
I would scale down the arms a bit, they seem out of proportion
Wow Galaxy style shading is dead on. Methinks his legs are just a hint too long though, more specifically, where his upper hip begins I think is too high.
It sorta looks like that because he is not standing straight. The foot on the right ( his left ) is put forward some. I probably shouldn’t have posed him like that though, because it really does look longer. Oh well.
I’m glad you like the Galaxy shading!
Very cool.
Do we get to see a wireframe?
Sure! I’m not sure how to actually render a wireframe, so I’ll just give you a screenshot of the 3d view.
I had trouble getting the hands to deform right, so I just modeled them into fists ( explaining the poor topology ).
Yeah, I see what you mean. I think its because you can’t see the flat of his feet that its hard to gauge where his feet actually end.
Technically speaking, is his head a separate mesh from the rest of his body?
(same for ears, nose, shoes)
The topology looks a little meh, but the end result is awesome.
His head is separate, his feet are separate, his nose isn’t separate, and his ears are mostly separate ( a little bit in the front is attached ).
Thanks! I agree about the topology. When I started modeling him, I didn’t even know what “topology” meant. Cleaning the mesh up is on my to-do-before-I-die list.
I should show you my allosaurus wireframes… That thing is a topological nightmare.
It’s perfect!
@ba02
Thanks! I’m glad you like him.
Looks very solid. I like it a lot - I think his hair is slightly redder and lighter in ‘real life’ (ha ha), and his shoes slightly darker, but it looks very nice. Great work!
