Fleetwood and Knott End and river Wyre.

Scenario cross to opposite shore and collect crewman. Then travel up river a little way and collect cargo of barrels and return to starting point
Fleetwood jetty.
Area of the scenario
The script to generate the terrain from srm2/hgt data had altered so no longer usable (apparently). I have tried greyscale displacement which can be got to work, but tricky depending on route sze.
As I have aleady made the routes from the Solway Firth (Border of Scotland) down to Landâs End I can adjust these and re-upload. I donât think it is worth retaining the drivable aspect (little to no interest by others) any more and possibly will just use vessels on preset tracks.
Then possibly back-track to the larger docks c1800 of the Mersey etc and expand these.
As regards wordpad I will replace it with notepad, also perhaps make a texture of the details, perhaps using the âgimpâ paint program.
I anybody has any ideas how to improver these routes I would be interested in hearing but of course there is âcatchâ as the maxmum file size has to be below 5 megs including the textures. Also for others to download them they will need version 2.79b Blender from the archives without any
additional scripts adding to it.
I will upload the Ribble routes which will bring me along the coastline from the Solway Firth around the docks of Liverpool c1800 once again. The era of c1800 was a very differnt type of maritime world that we know today.

what version of blender you use, it seems to me that 2.79 doesnât work at all
Hi - Should work OK. 2.79b is the last up to date vesion of Blender before the 2.8 series. It is in the archives. Even the earlier version should work OK. I am using windows 10 but it worked fine in Windows 7 which I used for about 8 years. Download the zip file and drag the folder out of the zip file. Open Blender exe and either mouse pointer over window press key P or Tab Games/start game engine.
There are 10 differnt routes back on line to download now. They all download OK. Max file size is 5 meg including textures.
https://download.blender.org/release/
If you click 2.79 it gives a choice including 2.79b.
Should work on 32 or 64 bit
Downloads and runs OK route 10 Ribble.
If there is a problem with any of the routes please explain the problem, otherwise I wonât be able to try and fix and re-upload the route. thanks.
Next route is Mersey and Liverpool docks c1800
3 drivable vessels
wasd sloop
tfgh Sailing flat
ijkl schooner
From Liverpool onwards there will be several versions of the same route.
Routes can never be finished as always something to , alter, delete or add.

Mersey and Liverpool docks of early 1800s.
The 3 drivable vessels are in the first dock as shown below

I have also started off again the preset vessel movements, as well as the 3 drivable sailing vessels. In this version as well as drivable the 3 keys 1, 3, 6 start off 3 vessel movements. You might ned to experiment with the order of setting them in motion to avoid sailing through other vessels. I hope to inlcude numerous vessel movements eventually.
11merseypreset.zip (3.9 MB)
Downloads OK. Working within the 5meg limit I will see what else I can add which will be the next version 11merseypreset01. The preset vessels start off from Liverpools very first dock built 1715, Later filled in by customs house followed by the current leisure and shopping complex. See screenshot.

I think I will call this one completed for now.
The amount of different textures placed on terain is limited to max of 5 meg for full route to include objrcts and animations. So in future maybe just single merged plain colour textures with ribbon of grass along river banks to bring the detail out. Hard to know. Routes at 12km to 16km probably best to avoid the decimate function.
Also I will have to change to greyscale and use 3dem to make the greyscale height map. Actually 12 to 16 km square could inlude quite a lot of details. 16km is about 8 to 10 miles. Inclined to start from scratch again with the new features.

Upper Solway. Back to the beginning and the greyscale height map will be the start. 16.29km. Few attempts but strength down to 0.1 in displacement and it sits on the base 0 line this time.

Hey, I already have the 2.79 blender, here it doesnât work,
my blender stay at the default setting always. I didnât make any changes.
you can record a video by opening your project
-sorry about my English-
I will try and help but need more details.
Take it in stages.
1.Download the zip file that contains the route.
2.Open the file and either drag or extract the route.
3. Double click or open the blend file in the route folder.
4, You will see the route in edit mode,
5. Easiest to click game/start game engine at top.
6. Alternativly make sure you are in object mode and.
Mouse poiinter over window and press keyboard key P.
What do you mean by default mode?
7.Make sure game engine is selected at top in the small scroll box, NOT Blender Render or NOT Cycles Render.
Maybe number 4 is the problem. Just click Game/Start game engine. The game only runs in object mode and not in edit mode.
Let me know if you have solved the problem. Thanks.
B
See screenshot. Far left top row - click game then start game engine.
Blender game should be in the scroll box in midde of top row.
Bottom row object mode

Now that I realize the game has always worked. the problem was like keys that I didnât look at.
Itâs cool your game.
My feedback
I didnât understand this camera view, because you donât switch to another view?
Itâs nice for you to create an AI. instead of using animation?
-sorry about my English-
Thanks for the reply and appreciated.
I did have 40 or so routes on line for download but as there was a problem wth wordpad I had ro remove them. I have fixed this and now using notepad and further details in a paint program. Decide to start putting some back online. I am working on a limit of 5 megs to enable me to make them downloadable and again my thanks to Blender Artists, so keeping them simple as possible.
Regarding the camera as some of the routes are quite large easiest just to use a simple roaming camera home/end and arrow keys.
I am going to put another version of Liverpool docks online with only 3 drivable vessels but includes the Dee Estuary. To be made ino another seperate version later. Back to about 14 routes back-online for download. Will upload this now.

Tested it and downloads OK. there are many trees on this one as used instancing Alt plus D.
Do you have Whatsapp?
I have an AI ready for the car, but I donât know if it would work with ships.
If you need help with anything, count on me.
@ethicalfive helped me make this AI Heâs a good programmer!
I do not know very much about Blender even though I have used it since about 2002-2004.
Numerous scenarios can be made so if others would like to work on any of my routes they are welcome and would be very pleased to see what could be made. AI unfortunately was the wrong wording for me to use.
The only method I use is simple drivable and vessels on preset tracks using the timeline. The only restriction on these routes is use at your own risk and not for commercial use.
I would be interested to see somebody make some steamships for the routes as I have made a few attempts at them and usually delete.
them. Endless scenarios could be made within the routes if others could get interested.
Thanks

Theres way better programmers around than me! Im still learning myself as I go.

My problem is not only trying to make the harbours and ports but attempting to create a time of 2 centuries or more ago. I am finding it impossible now as many docks had not even been built and without spending many years to research the past (impossible at my age at amost 4 score), much is just guesswork.
The answer I think is to switch to the age of steam for coastal, going just by OSMap for the general layouts of the docks, missing out container docks, etc. The era that way could be general from about 1825 to maybe 1960s. Almost all now seem to be marinas? B
You need more boat models, can send some reference images?
I will see if I can maKe the hull shape as have had a look at some on the internet. Thanks anyway though,They will be basic as its a 5 meg limit for a complete route including textures.
I did manage to convert the schooner to a basic paddle-steamer in one of my routes I think.
I anybody makes any you can copy and paste them from route to route, etc, at least if using âwindowsâ Thanks Barry
To try and start the age of steam using the basic very early paddle steamer.
wasd keys so one vessel only.
roaming camera home/end/arrow-keys
The route is very large as is the full isle of Man.
Very basic so this will be version 1.
