Mars Ingenuity Mini-Helicopter... in Blender

Since the Mars Perseverance thing has been in the news lately, I thought this was relevant. There’ve been a couple articles talking about how the little mini-helicopter on the Perseverance rover (named Ingenuity) runs Linux. That’s super cool… but more relevant to our interests here, some folks noticed that NASA’s 3D Resources page has Ingenuity as a .blend file. You can pull the ZIP from there or follow a link to the model on their GitHub page.

It’s just nice to know that Blender gets used in all kinds of interesting places. :slight_smile:

That is awesome, Blender a 3D tool for NASA, their art director uses Blender and he is also the modeler for NASA.

they are using it for a while, i saw some older files were created with blender 2.6x
