Material

Hi,
This is probably a noob question, but I’ll ask it anyways.
I’m trying to make a plate with a design on it, using this pic, www.chinese-porcelain-art.com/acatalog/XXP13.jpg. The problem though is that I cant get it to match up with the 3d object, partially because I don’t know how to. I set the image as a material onto the plate object. How do I adjust where it sits so that I can get it right?

Thanks,
Nadaklan Gelom.

In the material panel (F5) goto Texutre /Map input panel and adjust sizeX, sizeY, sizeZ or you can have it UVmapped…

I can’t seem to get it right, I think I tried the size stuff, but havent tried UV mapping it yet. Is there a live image I can see when I adjust it? It’s kinda hard rendering it all the time.

You should UV map your picture on the plate. In the 3D view, select the “Texture Draw Type” to see the texture.

I guessed you just UV mapped it coz faster…Just create ur model plate, —>UV face select—>unwrap–>project from view. Load your image on the separate UV window editor , do some scaling to match ur image to your model plate.
In material panel (F5) activate “tex face”…
this is the result…
