max/maya to blender


I need to import in blender a rig from max / maya
what file format should i use to export from max / maya ?

for exporting from blender fbx is a good choice…

for import collada is probably best for getting rigs in… I don’t import to blender though… just the other way!

another approach is to take a base mesh and then point data frame by frame…
for export from blender a combo of obj for the mesh and .mdd for the point data works well if you can export/import the data in max/maya

lots of people use"point oven" but thats commercial… I think that supports .mdd
