Mesh devisions visible in cycles rendering

Hello fellow Blender humans,

I’ve got a strange issue regarding my surfaces in cycles - this problem is new, I never noticed it before. Do you know why these lines are appearing?

The model has proper topology, only quads, no doubles, consistent normals. How is this possible?

ps: I have the same issue with a normal uv-sphere, shaded smooth, without any modifiers

If you are in orthographic view, try changing to perspective view (numpad 5)
