Hey there. I’m trying to do a photoscan of my friend using Meshroom. I took tons of photos, thinking I wouldn’t have any problem at all, but the mesh that came back was awful. Here’s a video of all the stills:
All I care about is the guy’s head. Once I deleted all the room geo in the background in Blender, this is the mesh I got back:
I don’t know what went wrong. Anyone have any thoughts??
Your location is really dark. I would say almost “extrimely” dark for photogrammetry.
Probably you can miss the good focus while shooting.
Meshroom are one of the most slow software and cant produce good results. I can recomment to try 3dZephyr at least, but best option are RealityCapture/Metashape.
Specifically in your case Metashape probably (but not guaranteed) can produce better results because compared to RealityCapture Meshroom are a little more forgiveness about image quality and you can have some pictures out of focus entirely or partially because of the incorrect grip.
