I am making an indie game and would like to hire someone to turn a meshy.ai draft into a nice, rigged, low-poly model. I have no idea how much this would cost in the community, but I would like to pay less than US$200 for the job. Is that reasonable?
To be clear, I would like the following output at the end:
An fbx model, in a t-pose,ideally 1.4m in height (in Blender units)
Decent, low-poly (it does not have to be super-low-poly as this will be used in cut-scenes) mesh with sensible seams
UV mapping with the texture/material.
I want to be able to animate this character in Mixamo as well as using Blender animations.
The end product will be imported to Unity where the animations will be applied.
I am an individual.
Skills required: to do the job to a decent standard.
No deadline, but I’ll get bored of waiting after a couple of weeks.
Just a quick note to say a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who has shown an interest in this job. There are some really talented artists on here! I think I have more than enough replies to get started on the job. I will reply to everyone individually as soon as I have a solution agreed.
Some of the questions have tweaked the brief a little: I wold also like to be able to animate the facial expression using the eyebrows - either through rigging or a swappable decal/texture.
FYI: Here is some general feedback on the responses (from a newbie to BA.org)…
Examples of work are really useful and I really discounted any enquiries without them. Mainly because there were so many responses.
Helpful questions were greatly appreciated like: do you also want X or Y?
And, of course, I appreciated the offers for a lower price. My original budget was based upon looking on Fiverr, but I am essentially clueless, so it is good to get a better steer on pricing.
Thanks again. Looks like I found the right community for my project!
Ben
