Messed up normal baking

I made a low-res object first, then copied it to a different layer and added detail. Now when I try to bake it, it comes out as this:



No matter the settings, it remains buggy until the distance and/or bias are so high all detail is gone. I don’t get it, the objects are 1:1 clones minus the detail.

Check face normals are consistent and both objects are in the same location when baked.
Attach or link to your blend file so others can have a look.

Heh, I didn’t even check for the normals (haven’t imported it into a game engine yet and Blender doesn’t show it when they’re inverted). Thanks for the quick response, I’ll look into it.

Yeah, that fixed it. I can fix the rest of the problems I have with it.
