Microbiome

I was inspired by a nature documentary to create this animation. I’ve tried to get to most effect with minimal effort; most of the heavy lifting is done by the material nodes, using Layer Weight, transparency, transmission and bump. I used geo nodes to create and animate the organs and hairs on the micro organisms. The worm on the background is a simple mesh animated on a curve.

In post I used the compositor to add chromatic aberration and sensor noise. And added Vignette and Edge Detect in DaVinci Resolve.

Hi there,
I would recommend adding a title to your post, that way people will be able to know roughly what it is about, and help more people to see it.

Yeah I know, I was still editing the post. What’s really frustrating is that YouTube thumbs don’t show up in the editor or the preview page. Makes it hard to gauge what the post will look like. Would be a nice addition to the forum to make embedding YouTube videos and reels a more straight forward process.

Looks very good. Very convincing optical microscope look!

No problem, it would be nice to be able to see YT embeds in the editor.

Thanks, I thinking of making more of these, stay tuned! :slightly_smiling_face:
