A couple of techniques I used in this scene.

  • Floor Shadows
I used many lights in the scene which creates a lot of shadow in different directions. To make the shadows simpler, I opted to manually create the shadows using gradient texture for the object that are touching the floor.

  • Crumbs
To create the crumbs, I used a simple geometry nodes setup that utilizes the raycast node to set the position of the crumbs on top of the objects.

  • Color Management
For the color management I used AgX with the “look” set to RED deep chroma, then I used Blenders compositor to tweak the colors and contrast further.

  • Emphasizing and Removing Shadows
I used ambient occlusion node in the shader editor to emphasize shadows and exaggerate the cavities of the objects. On the other hand I used the “Is shadow ray” from the light path node to reduce the shadows of the milk to make it look a little bit softer.
