I decided to recreate this artwork using Blender’s grease pencil, and add a touch of my own with an animation at the end.

I really had fun playing around with the Grease Pencil LineArt & other fun modifiers. Various parts of the drawing are animated using different modifiers (noise, smooth, build, shrink, …).

I was also able to recreate the original art’s background and style exclusively with Blender’s shading features.

Very nice. The contrast is a bit too high. I suggest you tint the lines like in the original, perhaps even make them lighter.
