Minecraft Based Animation

Update - 12/26/11

I worked on my animation some more and finally found a voice actor to help out. Now that my project starts to wrap up I figured I should create an intro for my videos and this is what I came up with, also if you have seen any of my other videos my walking animation was not very good and in this one it is very much improved. I think I figured how to make my rig walk normal.

Please let me know what you think about the walking animation, is it better than before?

And i can predict how explosives will look like. Either TNT, or… Green… Little… Tssss… OH GOD!

Keep it up  I’m really interested in results

I would turn interpolation off on all the textures to get rid of that blurry look.

Yeah, this is a rig I found online, I have my own textures I use for animation and they are a lot better. Instead of being 16x (like the ones here) they are 512x.

I added a new photo of my current youtube background I created this morning, I placed the rigs on a white background with the guns in their hands and then rendered them out, edited them with Gimp, and now they look great!

It indeed does look great!

Update - Finished the scene for Episode 1

May I suggest that you make the leaves not cast shadows. It looks way to dark under the trees. If you walked into the trees, you probably wouldn’t see anything.
If you never found a solution to the shadows. I would suggest looking into nodes. I don’t know much about it, but you may be able to make darker shadows lighter while making light shadows stay the same. Just mess with the curves.

Thanks I did not think about that, if worse comes to worse I can just put a light in a tree and turn the brightness really far down.

it’s called ao.

What is called AO and what dose it do?

AO is Ambient Occlusion. it kind of fills in the shadows and darkens where objects are close to eachother, giving the whole scene a more realistic effect.
i dont know exactly how to explain it, so here is a simple scene with and without.
Without AO:

With AO:

How do I delete or move key frames? I messed up and want to remove one of them but don’t know how.

Alt I, or go to the dopesheet, select and press X

For a more detailed explanation of ambient occlusion, it’s a simulation of the way light bounces around in a scene. It does this by measuring the proximity between two points, and adding a certain amount of ambient light depending on the closeness. The closer something is, the less ambient light there is.

Help when I render an image all I get is a blank white screen and it takes about 10 minutes to load

Render what? with what render settings? with what resolution?

I don’t know what setting you want to look at so if you want my .blend file please send me a Private Message because I can’t post the media fire download link.

Fixed it, for some reason AO and other lighting settings are not working. I had to add Suns and point lights around the scene to make it bright.

I say the walk cycle. Try make the lower leg swing. It needs to lag behind the upper leg.
