mirror modif offset

i use the mirror modif and got big offset:evilgrin:

what did i do wrong with this one:eek:

this is not the modifier offset, this is your object is too far from the “middle line” where the offset takes place, i hope you understood what i just said, anyway to fix it, just grab your object and put it right the mirrored one.

I don’t see your object center, so I’m assuming you created the mesh at another location and moved it (in “edit mode”) without relocating the objects center.

Like greboide said just select the mesh in edit mode and drag it next to the copy or if you have the mesh at the right place and don’t want to move it:

Try selecting the verts on the z axis (in the screenshot view) and using “shift + s” to center the cursor there (cursor -> selection) and then in “object mode” use the “center cursor” in the editing (F9) panel. If you need to move the mesh do it in “object mode” and the object center will stay fixed.

I moved the center where you see the big dot bottom right in object mode

OK i found that the center was not moved to the right selection it was off screen far away!

Don’t understand what happen with that center ?

Object center is moved with the mesh when in object mode. When in edit mode the object center doesn’t move while editing; only the vertices move. If you move vertices in edit mode you leave the Object center behind.
