mist and light problem

Hi all im using blender 2.49a and my scenes are in texture face material. First i make the mist and it works perfect, then i put some textures to the planes, then i noticed that the light dont affect it, so i search for a variable and in texture face mode it appears light. now the materials are affected by the light…The problem is that i have light but the mist doesnt work anymore. There is a way that the mist and the light works together?
