Mitsubishi A5M 'Claude' - Carrier based fighter (1936)

While the famed A6M Zero was the primary naval fighter of the Pacific campaign in WW2, the A5M ‘Claude’ or the Type 96 Carrier-based fighter was its predecessor. While these two aircraft are incomparable in terms of their performance, the Mitsubishi A5M and its generation of aircraft paved the way in terms of indigenous aircraft development for the IJN (Imperial Japanese Navy).

Very nice! I like the extreme weathering.

Thanks @OldpondGL. I was trying to go for a well-used example that managed to survive the war. I wish one of them did, it would have made the texturing process a whole lot easier with regard to finding references!

It looks well modeled. What size is your texturing? The bump map looks a little undefined/soft.

Thank you @Mark06GT. The textures are 4096 x 4096 pixels. I feel that the issue is with the texel density.

If you don’t mind me making a couple suggestions, I would use UDIMs and break your texture file into many 4k images. Also, if you don’t already use a UV packing tool (like UVPackMaster), I would recommend that too since it really packs the UV islands into a high density arrangement.

Thank you for the suggestions. I had been planning to start implementing UDIMs in my workflow, but I just never got around to it. Seems like this is a good opportunity to start! As for UV packing, I actually have used it in the past, but for some reason or the other, I missed it for this one.
