Hello everyone. I try to blend color of a few glasses to get the color of the mix .
In Blender render i get it using Transparency / Raytrace . Alpha and depth . because i try with three glasses .
That as a result:
In intersecction you can see the secondary color¡¡
But in cycles i try with a lot of shader and i can’t get a good result .
this is a result using transparent shader because if i don’t use it. i get the mix colored black .
But in cycles i try with a lot of shader and i can’t get a good result .
So you don’t want the results you’d see if you did this in the real world with different coloured glass
The issue is not with Cycles, but the fact that the glass material you made in BI looks rather cheap and low quality in the realism department (no refraction, no internal reflection, ect…)
Ok Richard Marklew Cycles correctly reproduces reality. What happens is that when the light passes through the first crystal only the photons with the wavelength corresponding to the color of the glass and that is why those photons can not pass through the crystals of other colors and you get the black and not the white.
It’s different when we mix colored lights where cycles in your mix get white
