Mixing mask with procedural texture

Hi, I wan to have this sci-fi procedural texture combined with the skin, I added a hand painted mask but I want it to look realistic.
Is there a way to combine the mask that I hand drawn with the procedural texture so it looks like the metal parts are over the skin, not with that smooth painted look.

I tried to create a wall that similiar to that.

I tried to use vertex paint. I then add the vertex color and use a Greater than operation to remove the soft edge.

I would make the texture with it, and generate a displacement/bump for the procedural.
