Mocktails

Mocktails or Cocktails

Thought I’d go back and have another shot at this again after watching few product photography videos to learn a little bit more about lighting.

Render -

Wireframe -

Scene -

Most of the lighting was created with these 3 lights -
Top - Round area light with a 45deg spread to give a ‘Grid’ feeling
Middle - Square area light with a 90deg spread to help with back lighting the mint leaves, ice cubes and top of glass.
Bottom - Small area light bounced back onto a white place which helps soften and spread the light back towards the glass and illuminates the ice cubes in the glass.

As always if anyone has questions please feel free to ask

Awesome! The ice cubes look particularly convincing. Thanks for the lighting setup, nice to see how it was done.

Thanks! I do add a little bit of sharpening around the centre of the image, but I try to get as much as I can using contrast which helps for a more dynamic image too.

Thank you! I find the simpler the background the harder it becomes to light as you have to try all sorts to stop light leaking on the background.

Its crazy seeing my work being Featured on Instagram!

Most of my work is me messing on, learning, investigating and pushing blender to see what I can achieve.

Thank you everyone for their kind words!
