Modifying the properties of modifiers using keyboard

Hi!

I couldnt find the keyboard shorcut for changing the values of the modifiers by actually inputing the values from the keyboard, as opposed to using the mouse. Can anyone point me to the way to do this?

Thanks!

N ???

Hey tordat, you’re awarded the “Shortest Answer In Elysiun History” :stuck_out_tongue:
Raz, if you want to change the exact location of an object, select the object and press the N-Key (as tordat said).
If you want to change the values of sliders, buttons etc. by hand/keyboard just use Shift-LMB (LeftMouseButton) when you click on the buttons.
Hope that helps.

ok, thanx

Hm, ok, tried that.
I’ve made a plane, moved it somewhere away from 0, 0, 0, selected it, pressed the N-KEY and … whoops … the menu popping up shows all values 0,00. That’s due to the actions I’ve taken not the thruth. Seems, with the N-KEY can be set only differences.
Is there a possibility to set coordinates directly in blender? If not it should be added to a wish- or todo-list once the sources are open.

Frank

Hi Frank!

It seems that you moved the plane in Edit-Mode (so you moved all the vertices, but not the pivot-point of the plane), and N-keyed out of edit mode.
Two solutions:

  1. Move the plane when you’re not in Edit-Mode
  2. Select the plane and in the Edit-Buttons (F9) press “Center New” (on the right hand side)
Now N-Key should show the correct values.

That - indeed does it!
