Monitor

Does anyone know of some extra cheap widescreen computer monitors I only have $100 and I need 2.

Here is one for $70.00 : http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1781468&Sku=H94-1605

I doubt if you can find it cheaper than that.

Well actualy I want at least 20 inch so I geuss I could do with one for now

check craigslist for your local area. many businesses have went out of business so there are alot of pcs and monitors for sale. i got two pcs with 20 inch monitors for $100. they were old pcs and the monitors were crt (the old big ones.) but the one advantage to crt is it has the best picture you can get short of maybe plasma.

i’m from phoenix and some of the deals i could get are:
http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/sys/2926114116.html
http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/sys/2936899902.html
http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/sys/2936759884.html

just make sure to meet them in a safe place with electrical outlets and bring a cheap laptop so you can try them out before giving up any money for them. you can get great deals but sometimes there are scams. be safe and dont get scammed. and make sure it works before handing over any money, dont trust anyone to make it right later, make sure you are getting what you are paying for when or before you pay for it.

19th ave and bethany home… best bring a gun too.

 Can you buy one of those on craigslist?

there’s a dennys about a mile from there and it seems to have more cops than the police station.

I know of a pretty good $90 20 inch computer monitor, I don’t know where it’s sold though.

Oh, yeah, that dennys

I was asking about monitors not guns and dennys so please only post if you have a monitor suggestion.

For that little amount of money you’ll have to go secondhand.

Moved from “General Forums > Blender and CG Dicussions” to “Misc > Off-topic”

@dreylliw, please be sure to post in the correct forum. Blender and CG Discussions isn’t a catch-all.

Sorry didnt mean to sound angry just wanted to not go off topic.

I didnt think it was off topic there are alot of other people talking about computer hardware ect.
But if it is please accept my apology.

To be honest I would never buy crap monitors, I’d go for LaCie or Eizo CRT’s for graphic work, you’ll easily find 22" professional CRT’s for $40-60 each and then you can actually work on them, the cheap TFT’s are just pure crap imo. :frowning:

(we actually had a LaCie CRT as main screen on a production box until late last year as we needed a full 2K monitor on some jobs)

Thanks farmfield I’ll check that out.

Just my 2 cents. The low price/quality TFT’s are really horrible to work on for graphics, so I personally would absolutely choose a pro CRT before a crap TFT, just to get the higher resolution and better colors…

Got to agree with Farmfield. If you are doing graphic work of any kind, a high end monitor would top my list of must-haves.

I actually have gone outside the “monitor” world and simply purchased a high-def tv. I am typing this to you on this: http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&partNumber=KDL42V4100

I couldn’t find a monitor as big, or even a smaller one with better specs than this for the price. ($425 on sale at the time) Plus I felt using a TV would more accurately represent how my finished work would look for home viewers.
